It is the most astounding thing to see individuals with disability treated as outcasts. They, often subjected to sympathy and pity, are treated as second-class citizens. They are mostly deprived of living a life entitled to normal and healthy human beings. Society still isn’t able to understand that disability is not life-ending! बीते दिनों दिव्यांगों की भारतीय क्रिकेट टीम ने सिंगापुर दौरे के दौरान जब सिंगापुर क्रिकेट टीम पर जीत हासिल की थी तब भारतीय होने के नाते हमारा सिर गर्व से ऊंचा हो गया था। टीम ने मजबूत ताकत, दृढ़ संकल्प और प्रतिबद्धता दिखाते हुए जीत हासिल की थी। इसके बाद लगा कि दिव्यांगों को लेकर हमारी सोच में बदलाव आएगा लेकिन तकलीफ की बात यह है कि आज भी समाज में दिव्यांगों को लेकर एक किस्म का रूढ़िवादी सोच बरकरार है और उन्हें अलग-थलग समझा जाता है।

राष्ट्रीय गौरव का पल था जब दिव्यांगों की भारतीय क्रिकेट टीम ने सिंगापुर दौरे के दौरान सिंगापुर क्रिकेट टीम पर जीत हासिल की थी। टीम ने मजबूत ताकत, दृढ़ संकल्प और प्रतिबद्धता का प्रदर्शन किया। फिर भी तकलीफ की बात यह है कि आज भी समाज में दिव्यांगों को लेकर एक किस्म का रूढ़िवादी सोच बरकरार है।

2011 की जनगणना के अनुसार देश में 26,810,557 से अधिक लोग (पुरुष और महिलाएं) दिव्यांग हैं। शहरी और ग्रामीण इलाकों में पुरुष दिव्यांगों का अनुपात महिलाओं से काफी अधिक है। ग्रामीण भारत के आंकडे बताते हैं कि पुरुष दिव्यांगों की संख्या 10 करोड़ से अधिक है जबकि महिलाओं की संख्या 8 करोड़ से अधिक है। शहरी भारत में दिव्यांग पुरुषों की संख्या लगभग 4 करोड़ है और महिलाएं तीन करोड़ से अधिक हैं। इस पोस्ट के बारे में और पढ़ें

हार्डवेयर, नेटवर्किंग, मोबाइल और उपकरणों की मरम्मत की ट्रेनिंग लेकर दिव्यांग बन रहे आत्मनिर्भर

इसी तरह का एक समाजसेवी संस्था नारायण सेवा संस्थान है, जो दिव्यांगों के लिए हार्डवेयर और नेटवर्किं ग, मोबाइल और उपकरणों की मरम्मत की ट्रेनिंग देता है.

विकलांगता सिर्फ एक मनोस्थिति है, चैलेंज नहीं

जनगणना में अक्षमता की आठ श्रेणियों का उल्लेखित किया गया है-देखना, सुनना, बोलना, चलना-फिरना, मानसिक मंदता, मानसिक बीमारी, कई बीमारियां और विभिन्न दिव्यांगताएं. सामाजिक-आर्थिक फासले के कारण दिव्यांग लोगों को मुख्यधारा में लाने का प्रयास करना हमेशा एक चुनौतीपूर्ण काम रहा है.

According to the 2011 census, the lowest literacy rate among the differently abled individuals is reported from Arunachal Pradesh (38.75%) followed by Rajasthan (40.16%).

HRD Minister Satyapal Singh stated that out of the 12 million disabled children in our country, only 1% takes education. Nestled in the hilly terrain of the Aravallis, ten kilometres from Udaipur, is an NGO called Narayan Seva Sansthan (NSS). For the past 35 years, the organisation has treated over three lakh people with disabilities free of cost.Started in 1985 by Kailash Agarwal Manav, a Padma Shri awardee, NSS initially focused on social services like treating poor people free of cost. It was only in 1997, that the organisation started treating people with disabilities. Now, its mission is to rehabilitate people with disabilities and help them lead an independent life.The NGO helping underprivileged differently-abled people by providing them free medical treatment as well as free education. However, what makes NSS unique is the fact that it provides vocational training to people with disabilities while they are undergoing treatment.

NSS offers corrective surgeries to polio victims, cerebral palsy patients, and those suffering from disabilities by-birth.

Apart from its two hospitals in Udaipur, NSS has 480 branches across India, and 49 branches abroad to treat people with disabilities. It has also set up a branch in Uganda, where it claims to have helped over thousands of people with disability.  Read More About This Post

दिव्यांग लोगों से संबंधित साक्षरता के मामले में 2011 की जनगणना के अनुसार अरुणाचल प्रदेश ने 38.75 प्रतिशत की सबसे कम साक्षरता दर दर्ज की, जिसके बाद राजस्थान का नंबर आता है, जहां दिव्यांग साक्षरता का प्रतिशत 40.16 था। वर्ष 2011 की जनगणना के आंकड़े बताते हैं कि 5 से 19 वर्ष की उम्र वाले सिर्फ 61 प्रतिशत दिव्यांग बालक किसी शैक्षणिक संस्थान में जाते हैं। साथ ही, स्कूल जाने वाले (5-19 वर्ष वाले) दिव्यांग बच्चों की संख्या गांवों के मुकाबले (60 प्रतिशत) शहरों में (65 प्रतिशत) ज्यादा है। 62 प्रतिशत दिव्यांग लडक़ों की तुलना में केवल 60 प्रतिशत दिव्यांग लड़कियों (5-19 वर्ष) ने शिक्षण संस्थानों में प्रवेश लिया। इस पोस्ट के बारे में और पढ़ें

In India, as per Census 2011, 2.68 crore people were recorded disabled of the total population of over 121 crore. Furthermore, 45 per cent of the disabled population is uneducated and a significant amount of that population lives in rural areas. Differently-abled people too deserve growth in all aspects of life, be it physical, economic or social, and they require a dedicated platform to help them attain a place in society.

Twenty-one differently abled and underprivileged couples, who tied the nuptial knot at a mass wedding ceremony in Udaipur, took a pledge against the dowry system and called upon the people to get vaccinated against COVID-19. The ceremony was organised with adherence to COVID-appropriate behaviour.

Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], February 23: Narayan Seva Sansthan’s ‘World of Humanity’, a 450-bedded hospital is getting ready in Udaipur. In this state-of-the-art facility, medical services will be available free of cost to a maximum of those specially abled people, who are forced to live with deformities in their hands and feet due to various reasons. Presently, these services are being operated through 1100-bedded hospitals in Sector-4 and Badi village premises of the city. With the efforts of Prashant Agarwal, India’s first ‘Central Fabrication Unit’ for Prosthetic and Orthopedic Equipment, manufacturing has been set up in the Sansthan in 2022. Compared to a hand-made limb, this German machine creates a convenient replica of a cut limb based on 100% accurate measurements.
